1995 Vergiate Air Show (MAV '95)
On Sunday, 27 August 1995, the Vergiate Aeroclub (near Varese in Northern Italy), organized the MAV '95 Air Show, the largest annual airshow in Italy. This year's event coincided with the 50th anniversary of the association's founding.
The excellent weather allowed attendance by spectators numbering in the various ten thousands. The flying portion of the exhibition, which included over fifty planes, helicopters, and gliders in the skies over Vergiate, ended with a exceptional and breathtaking performance by the Italian Air Force's flight acrobatic team, the "Freccie Tricolori".
