Vische fly-in 2003

Good weather favoured the traditional fly-in organized each July by the Fly Club Barone Rosso at their small Vische airfield, in North-Western Italy. More than fifty aircraft of various categories took part in the event. Sport aircraft, helicopters, homebuilts, ULMs and some interesting old-timers such as a Jodel Sicile Record two-seater, manufactured by Centre Est Aviation (France) in 1964, and a now rare Aviamilano P.19 Scricciolo designed by Ermenegildo Preti, a twin seater trainer which was produced in small numbers in Italy at the beginning of the '60s, in tailwheel and (P.19tr) nosewheel landing gear versions.
The Vische airfield, not far from Turin and close to the Candia lake, enjoyed a steady development in the past years, with an enlarged parking area and more hangars to host the increasing number of resident aircraft. The latest one is a Piper Seneca II destined to be used by the members of the Fly Club Barone Rosso for leisure flights. Also based in Vische is the first officially certified Italian ultralight, an Eipper Quicksilver bearing the registration mark I-0001.
The 2003 fly-in, as usual, was the occasion for flight baptisms, aerobatics, parachute and paramotor exhibitions. Among the participating aircraft were two interesting types, one of Italian and the other of US design, belonging to the early ULM age, a second-series Maefin Top Fun and a Hipp's Superbird J-3 Kitten monoplace, looking like a scaled down Piper Cub.
