On Saturday, July 12, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Volotea Airbus A320-214 EC-NOL was forced to make an emergency landing at Caselle Airport. It had departed Dubrovnik for Lyon, but midway, the left engine failed. It was immediately diverted to the nearest airport, which at the time was Caselle. Emergency procedures were activated at the Piedmont airport: sirens were activated and firefighters deployed along the runway. The aircraft in distress was able to land safely.
