Hawaiian ordina un altro A 330-200 per il lungo raggio
Hawaiian Airlines, che diventerà un nuovo operatore Airbus dalla prossima primavera, ha piazzato un ordine fermo per un ulteriore bireattore A 330-200. Questo acquisto si aggiunge a quello già in essere per sei Airbus A 330-200 e sei A 350-800 XWB, oltre a tre A 330 in affitto che entreranno in linea con il vettore USA.
L’aereo appena ordinato sarà consegnato nel 2011 in configurazione a due classi per 294 passeggeri. Tutti gòo A 330 che saranno utilizzati dalla compagnia aerea saranno spinti da turbofan Rolls-Royce Trent. Finora, per i suoi collegamenti sul Pacifico, l’Hawaiian Airlines aveva utilizzato soltanto velivoli “made in USA” come Lockheed Tristar e Boeing 767.

United firma un ordine fermo per 25 bireattori A 350 XWB
United Airlines ha formalizzato un impegno d'acquisto già preannunciato nel dicembre 2009, firmando un ordine definitivo per 25 esemplari di A 350-900 XWB, il prossimo bireattore a fusoliera larga dell'Airbus. Gli aerei, spinti da turbofan Rolls-Royce Trent XWB, saranno consegnati tra il 2016 ed il 2019.
United Airlines diventa la 33a compagnia aerea ad aver ordinato il nuovo tipo di Airbus. Dalla consegna del primo A 320 alla United, nel novembre 1993, l'Airbus ed il vettore statunitense hanno mantenuto un rapporto molto stretto.
(NdR: il 25 febbraio scorso, United Airlines aveva finalizzato un ordine per 25 bireattori di linea Boeing B.787-8. Per sicurezza, pareggia il conto ed ordina altrettanti pariclasse A 350-900. Non si sa mai.)

Ordine fermo della Malaysia Airlines per 17 bireattori A 330
Malaysia Airlines ha ordinato all’Airbus diciassette A 330 a fusoliera larga. La firma del contratto suggella un precedente memorandum d’intesa per 15 A 330-300 passeggeri ed altri due A 330-200F Freighter che saranno operati dalla sussidiaria MASkargo.
Le consegne degli aerei in versione passeggeri inizieranno nella prima metà del 2011, mentre il primo esemplare in configurazione tuttomerci entrerà nella flotta MASkargo qualche mese dopo. Attualmente la MASkargo utilizza esclusivamente alcuni B.747-200 Freighter noleggiati dall’islandese Air Atlanta.

Hawaiian Orders One More A 330-200 for Long-haul Operation
Hawaiian Airlines, which becomes a new Airbus operator this spring, has placed a firm order for an additional A 330-200 aircraft. The purchase joins an existing Hawaiian order for six A 330-200s and six A 350-800 XWBs from Airbus, as well as three leased A 330s that will be operated by the airline.
The newly ordered aircraft will be delivered in 2011 and will transport 294 passengers in a comfortable two-class configuration. All of the A 330 aircraft operated by the airline will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent engines. Until now, Hawaiian Airlines used a number of US-manufactured airliners, such as Lockheed Tristar and Boeing 767, for their trans-Pacific routes.

United Signs Firm Order for 25 A 350 XWB Airliners
United Airlines has formalized a commitment originally announced in December 2009, signing a firm order for 25 A 350-900 XWB aircraft, the newest twin-engine widebody from Airbus. The aircraft will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines. Deliveries of the aircraft will begin in 2016 and run through 2019.
United Airlines becomes 33rd customer for newest Airbus model. From the delivery of the first United A 320 in November 1993 to today, Airbus and the US airline have worked together successfully.
(Editor’s Note: On February 25, 2010, United Airlines ordered 25 Boeing B.787-8 airliners. To reduce risks, the airline now orders the same number of same-class A 350-900s.)

Malaysia Airlines’ Firm Order for 17 A 330 Aircraft
Malaysia Airlines has placed a firm order with Airbus for 17 A 330 wide-body aircraft. The contract firms up a previously announced Memorandum of Understanding for 15 A 330-300 passenger aircraft, plus an additional order for two A 330-200F Freighters for operation by the carrier's subsidiary MASkargo.
Deliveries of the passenger aircraft will begin in the first half of 2011, with the first freighter joining the MASkargo fleet later the same year. At present MASkargo operates a number of B.747-200 Freighter leased from Air Atlanta of Iceland.
