Dal 24 al 27 aprile 2003, nel nuovo quartiere fieristico di Friedrichshafen (Germania) sul lago di Costanza, si svolgerà il Salone internazionale AERO 2003, consolidato punto d'incontro europeo dell'aviazione generale. Secondo le indicazioni degli organizzatori, AERO 2003 registra ancora una volta una quota di espositori esteri in netta crescita: circa il 60 % delle aziende presenti per la prima volta a Friedrichshafen proverrà da vari paesi europei e da oltremare, con un netto incremento da parte delle ditte USA.
Nei nove padiglioni e nella mostra statica, su un'area totale di 80.000 metri quadri, saranno presenti circa 500 espositori di 20 nazioni, e molti di loro porteranno interessanti novità. Sarà possibile ammirare l'intera gamma dell'aviazione generale: aerei d'affari, alianti, VLA ed ultraleggeri, elicotteri ed equipaggiamenti, avionica, servizi di manutenzione ed accessoristica. Anche il tema dell'aeromodellismo avrà una forte rappresentanza alla AERO di quest'anno. Nell'ambito della manifestazione aerea del sabato e della domenica, oltre ai velivoli più recenti, si potranno ammirare numerosi velivoli storici volanti.
Gli ospiti della AERO, in tutte le quattro giornate di fiera, potranno anche visitare il cantiere Zeppelin, situato nelle immediate vicinanze del quartiere fieristico. Il padiglione dei dirigibili sarà accessibile durante le ore di apertura del Salone (ogni giorno dalle 9 alle 18). La AERO 2003 comprende un programma di conferenze su argomenti e problemi di attualità legati all'aeronautica generale. Le tematiche più importanti riguarderanno la panoramica del mercato degli aerei d'affari, la multiproprietà, JAR-FCL, la nuova eurolicenza. In the new Friedrichshafen exhibition grounds near Lake Constance, Germany, from the 24th to the 27th of April, 2003, the International Trade Exhibition for General Aviation AERO 2003 will be hold. It has established itself as the leading gathering for the general aviation industry in Europe. According to the show management, AERO 2003 is registering a notable increase in foreign participation: Approximately 60% of all companies to be presented this year for the first time in Friedrichshafen, will be coming from other countries in Europe outside of Germany, or from overseas. This increase can clearly be observed in regard to those firms coming from the USA.
Altogether a total of almost 500 exhibitors from 20 different countries will be present in the nine exhibition halls and the static display area. Many manufacturers use the AERO as a platform for launching new products in Europe and worldwide. In a total of 80,000 square metres of exhibiting space, attendees can view the entire spectrum of general aviation: business aviation aeroplanes, sailplanes, ultralights and VL aircraft, helicopters as well as equipment, avionics, maintenance, and accessories. Model flying will also be well represented at the AERO. On Saturday and Sunday, one will be able to watch fascinating oldtimers as well as the newest aeroplanes at the air show
AERO visitors will be able to also visit the Zeppelin hangar located in direct vicinity of the exhibition grounds, during all four show days. The Airship Hall is open during fair opening hours (daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.). The AERO 2003 offers a supporting programme specifically designed to address current problems and interests in general aviation. The most important subjects of discussion are among others: Market overview of the use of business aircraft, fractional ownership, JAR-FCL - the new Euro licence.
