MDM-1 "Fox" technical description card
MDM-1 FOX is an all jobs glider with mid-wing arrangement and conventional tail-unit.Glass/epoxy and carbon/epoxy structure.
Wings: two panels, trapeze contour of considerable taper.
Monospar structure, sandwich coverings.
Monoplate air brake extended on the upper surface only.
Friese type aileron of constant chord and large span and in two panels on each wing, mass-balanced, suspended on six hinges.
The fork spar connection with two horizontal bolts extending up to rear fittings of wing/fuselage connection.
Fuselage: monocoque, sandwich structure with integral fin.
The seat pan bonded fixed.
Two parts canopy opened sidewards to right.
The transceiver antenna is installed in the fin.
The towing hook is installed on the fuselage front portion.
The hook for winch-launching is located before the main wheel.
Tail-unit: stabilizer, elevator and rudder of sandwich structure with aerodynamic and mass balance.
Undercarriage: fixed undercarriage, faired. Main wheel brake is coupled with the air brake.
Fixed tail wheel.
Easy handling: small dimensions, robust structure, allow for longtime and simple operation.
