MBB Bölkow 108
Volò per la prima volta il 18 ottobre 1988 D-HBOX, primo prototipo del biturbina MBB Bölkow 108 presentato in anteprima all'ILA '90. Il programma era ancora nella fase sperimentale quando, nel gennaio 1992, la ditta tedesca unì la propria attività elicotteristica con quella della francese Aerospatiale, dando vita ad Eurocopter. Prima di essere prodotto in serie con la nuova sigla EC 135, l'elicottero subì varie modifiche, la più vistosa delle quali fu l'installazione del rotore di coda "fenestron" tipico degli elicotteri francesi (foto Aeromedia)
Flown for the first time on 18 October 1988, D-HBOX was the first prototype of twin-turboshaft MBB Bölkow 108, on display for the first time at ILA '90. The programme was still in its test phase when, in January 1992, MBB merged its rotary-wing business with French Aerospatiale helicopter division, setting up Eurocopter. Before entering production, the aircraft, renamed EC 135, received substantial modifications, the more visible being the French-style fenestron tail-rotor system (photo by Aeromedia)
