Seniors Day at Alenia Aeronautica

On November 17, 2007, the Alenia Aeronautica Seniors Group organized prize-givings for personnel with 20, 25 and 30 years of service with the company. The ceremony for the “northern” plants (Turin and Caselle) was held at the Caselle South plant for some 360 employees. The Nola plant hosted the prize-giving for more than 400 new seniores working at the Pomigliano, Capodichino and Nola factories.
At the Caselle South flight-test facility, a comprehensive static display, including most aircraft types now in production or undergoing updating was one of the highlights. Among those on dispay were a C-27J for the Hellenic Air Force with flight refuelling probe, a brand new EF 2000 fighter destined for the Italian Air Force with a complete array of underwing loads, the Tornado IDS which was used recently for the initial integration of the new Rafael Reccelite reconnaissance pod, a single-seat AMX ACOL and the EF 2000 DA7 development aircraft, still in flight condition after more than ten years of activity .
Also on display, inside the hangar used for the ceremony were the Sky-X Unmanned Air Vehicle and the Sky-y MALE UAV, both designed and produced by Alenia Aeronautica. The latter had just returned from the Vidsel Test Range, in Sweden, where it achieved a near-eight-hour flight, setting the European endurance record for UAV. The Caselle event concluded with a spectacular flight display of the C-27J demo-aircraft, in the hands of company’s test pilots Cdr.s Marco Venanzetti and Giovanni Ammoniaci.
