Alenia Aeronautica e la Aero Vodochody a.s. hanno firmato un contratto a seguito del quale l’azienda della Repubblica Ceca entra nel programma dell’aereo da trasporto C-27J e fornirà il cassone alare centrale del velivolo (Ndr: finora costruito da Piaggio Industries). Questa struttura, particolarmente complessa, costituisce il raccordo tra la fusoliera e le semiali. L’attività dell’Aero comprende l’installazione degli equipaggiamenti ed il collaudo finale della funzionalità.
La collaborazione tra Alenia Aeronautica ed Aero andrà oltre gli aspetti di mera fornitura, allargandosi alla promozione commerciale dell’aereo all’estero. Nell’ambito di questa azione di marketing per il C-27J, la ditta ceca avrà l’opportunità di espandere anche la propria base commerciale. Tra l’altro, il C-27J è attualmente in fase di valutazione da parte delle Forze Aeree Ceche per svolgere missioni di supporto alle truppe impegnate all’estero in operazioni di mantenimento della pace.
Al momento il C-27J è stato ordinato dall’Aeronautica Militare Italiana (12 esemplari), dalle Forze Aeree Greche (12 più 3 opzioni), dalle Forze Armate Bulgare (8) e dalle Forze Aeree Lituane (3). Negli Stati Uniti, il C-27J è in corsa per il programma JCA (Joint Cargo Aircraft), per il rinnovo delle componenti da trasporto tattico dell’US Army e dell’US Air Force. In Canada è stato proposto per riequipaggiare la flotta ad ala fissa del servizio Search and Rescue. Il C-27J è anche in corso di valutazione da parte delle forze aeree di Irlanda, Emirati Arabi Uniti e di alcuni membri recenti della NATO, come Romania e Slovacchia.
Aero Vodochody a.s., con 1.650 addetti, è la maggiore azienda ceca del settore aeronautica e difesa. Nel corso degli anni, si è affermata come il maggior produttore mondiale di aerei da addestramento a getto. Negli ultimi 50 anni ne ha costruti più di 6.500, ovvero circa due terzi di tutti gli aerei di questa categoria. L’azienda dispone di una grande esperienza nell’intero ciclo progettuale e costruttivo di velivoli, testimoniato da quasi 11.000 aeroplani di vario tipo realizzati negli 85 anni della propria ininterrotta attività.

Italy’s Alenia Aeronautica and Aero Vodochody a.s. today signed a contract under which the Czech Republic company will become a partner in the C-27J transport aircraft programme and will manufacture and supply C-27J centre wing-boxes. This aerostructure is a highly complex part of the aircraft that secures the wings to the fuselage. Aero’s activity will include the installation of equipments and functional tests.
The partnership between Alenia Aeronautica and Aero will extend from the manufacturing aspects to promotion of the aircraft abroad. The Czech company will contribute to the C-27J’s marketing efforts in potential export markets and, therefore, will have the opportunity to expand its own contacts, with advantages for its own business. The aircraft is currently under evaluation by the Czech Air Force for tasks that include transport support for Czech troops serving on peace keeping missions.
The C-27J has to date been ordered by the Italian Air Force (12 aircraft), the Greek Air Force (12 aircraft, plus 3 options), the Bulgarian Armed Forces (8 aircraft) and by the Lithuania Air Force (3 aircraft). In the United States, the C-27J is a contender in Joint Cargo Aircraft programme (JCA), for the renewal of the US Army and US Air Force tactical transport aircraft fleets. In Canada it is proposed for the renewal of the Search and Rescue aircraft fleet. The C-27J is also under evaluation by Ireland, United Arab Emirates and by new NATO member states, including Romania and Slovakia.
Aero Vodochody a.s., with 1,650 employees, is the largest Czech defence and aviation company. It is the largest jet trainer producer in the world.
