The first Dreamliner to appear at Caselle was registered G-TUIF and operated by the British charter airline Thomson. The second one would arrive at the Turin airport only in 2023, by which time Thomson Airways had been renamed TUI Airways. This airline has its origins in several predecessor British airlines. Euravia, an airline which was founded in January 1962 and was renamed Britannia Airways in December 1964. Orion Airways, founded in 1979, merged into Britannia Airways in 1989. Britannia Airways was rebranded as Thomsonfly in May 2005. In turn, Air 2000, founded in 1987, integrated the operations of Leisure International Airways in 1998 and became First Choice Airways in 2004. In September 2007, Thomsonfly and First Choice Airways merged following the merger of the travel division of TUI AG and First Choice Holidays. From May 1, 2008, all flights were operated under the Thomsonfly Air Operator's Certificate. On November 1, 2008, the Thomson Airways new brand was launched for the combined airline, which became the world's largest charter airline. In May 2013, Thomson Airways was the first UK airline to put the Dreamliner into service. On October 2, 2017 Thomson Airways was renamed TUI Airways. This series of consolidations of British charter airlines caused many hybrid liveries such as that seen on the Britanna B.767 with Thomson.co.uk titles and Tui logo on the white tail and that sported by the all-white Britannia B.757 with Tui logo on the tail.
